A Safety Message from our President:

I didn't start my career in the trucking industry as the owner of a thriving flatbed operation. I started as a long-haul truck driver.

I can easily recall the concerns and anxieties that accompanied my time on the road, with freight to haul and appointments to meet. Many of these concerns are the same as the ones experienced by those who are now driving my trucks for a living.

With this in mind, I have instituted a general policy which places SAFETY as Metal Transportation Systems' highest priority.

I learned long ago that without safety, there can be no success. Metal Transportation Systems would not be the growing, successful company that it is today without all its associates working under the same "Safety First" agenda.

This "Safety First" program includes such things as:

Mandated adherence to loading standards that exceed state and federal D.O.T. requirements.
A comprehensive training program which includes the use of videos, manuals and active participation.
Regular meetings which focus on a variety of safety related subjects.
Periodic reviews of our drivers' performance as it pertains to issues of safety.
Rigid standards for the regular maintenance of all our equipment.
A policy of strict adherence to all federal regulations regarding hours of service.
A monthly newsletter which contains appropriate information on one or more topics of safety.

More than these items mentioned above, "Safety First" is a philosophy, a cooperative way of doing things that places the highest priority on the health and welfare of my employees, and all those they come in contact with.
